The Sheenazing Blogger Awards

WE ARE NO LONGER TAKING NOMINATIONS FOR THE SHEENAZING BLOGGER AWARDS.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO NOMINATED!

Well folks, here it is, the nomination form for the first ever* Sheenazing** Blogger Awards!

The Sheenazing Blogger Awards are named for Venerable Fulton J. Sheen.  Sheen was amazing at using the newest forms of media to communicate the beauty of the Catholic Church and his love of Christ to the world.  I'm positive that Sheen would be a blogger were he alive today and that he is in Heaven, totally approving of this award.

So go nominate the Coolest Blogger, the Smartest Blog, the Funniest Blog, the Best Mommy Blog, the Best Underappreciated Blog, the Best Blog by a Man, and the Blog with the Best Memes.***

I'll gather nominations through Sunday.  On Monday I will share with the bloggers that they have been nominated and official voting will then begin on the next day.

The winners will earn a firm, virtual handshake, the pride in knowing that they've been named the Best of something by a fairly obscure blog, and the right to display the following on their site:

So go and nominate and make your favorite bloggers' dreams come true!

*possibly the only

**Originally I was going to name it the "Sheentastic Blogger Awards".  Fortunately I googled the word Sheentastic and learned from Urban Dictionary that it means you're having a good night, like one Charlie Sheen would have, complete with cocaine, hookers, and pot.  Not really what I was going for.

*** Hat tip to Kelly at This Ain't the Lyceum for that one.

  1. It's too bad you didn't been the cocaine one because I know some people. ;-)

I need to think about this this weekend while I read my blogroll. How exciting.

  3. I nominated a few. There were a bunch I couldn't fill in. I guess I don't read a wide variety of blogs!

    1. Don't be too impressed - I had to spend a lot of time in the Help section the first time I made one. And I'm not sure if there's a way to export the one doc into another so I'm spending a lot of time creating the voting form for the actual awards.

  7. So fun, i voted for all of them but the man one. I don't read any catholic men. But I'm sure I'll hear about some after the sheenazing awards come out!

  8. If someone is say, 15th runner up, can they still display a tiny sliver of the button on their site?...hypothetically speaking of course. This is just what the blogosphere needs to pick us up out of the winter blahs.

    1. Maybe I can make a graphic that quotes Sheen saying, "You're sorta Sheenazing."

I know this is dorky, but "just being nominated" really is a nice feeling! It reminds me of being on the Homecoming ballot in high school. :)

    2. Bonnie, I would completely display the "You're sorta Sheenazing" graphic with pride. I will be waiting to see if you post one! :)

  11. I take it it's wrong...on many levels, like immoral and prideful and all that...to nominate yourself? Which I am not going to do; just asking

    1. Ha! I was wondering as well! I didn't but I admit, I thought about it ;) Does it only take one nomination to qualify for voting?

    2. One nomination will get you on the voting sheet. But you've both been nominated. (ssshhhhh... that's a secret.)

  18. Thanks Bonnie and whomever nominated my blog. I love this idea much more than the regular blogging award nominations. It gives us a chance to discover blogs we've never seen before.

  19. I ended up missing being able to nominate my favorites but I love what I see on the roles! Most of my faves are there. :)
I had a security problem with my blog and had to take it down immediately for a couple days (during nominations) to make sure all was secure. Very scary! A good reminder for all of us really. I also noticed that, at the same time, a Catholic mama blog I follow was hacked and replaced with porn... so I don't know if I just escaped that or what. At any rate, I'm awfully glad that I didn't miss all of this fun. And please, please, please, everyone be careful with your cyber information and security protocols. Take care with what information you choose to put out there. Protect your family.
Thanks for doing the work for these awards, Bonnie!!
