Thank you to everyone who voted!
The Sheenazing Blogger Awards get their name from Venerable Fulton J. Sheen, who was amazing at using the newest forms of media to communicate the beauty of the Catholic Church and his love of Christ to the world. They are a fun way to celebrate the excellence of the Catholic blogosphere and honor Venerable
There will be a winner and a runner up in each category. The winners will earn a firm virtual handshake, the pride in knowing that they've been named the Best of something by a fairly obscure blog, and the right to display the following on their site:
The nominees for each category are listed below, in case you want to check everyone out before you vote. Or you can just head on over and vote for your favorite here!

Please help me notify these bloggers by congratulating them when you visit them.
And many, many, many thanks to Carolyn, Jenna, Maia, Micaela, Kathryn, Kendra, Bobbi, Patty, and Chris (did I miss anyone?! I did! Thank you, Rosie, too!) for helping me link up the names and find email addresses for the nominated bloggers! I thank you, my husband thanks you, my children thank you!
Disclaimer:
A brief review of all nominated blogs was done to make sure they fulfilled the first rule and were written by Catholics who are faithful to the teachings of the Catholic Church and believe that Pope Francis is the true pope. If I missed something please contact me via email at bonnie fandel {at} gmail {dot} com. The "Best Blog by a Non Papist" category is exempt from this rule.
If you are a nominated blogger but you were not contacted I apologize. In order to respect my family's time I did not fill out contact forms, search for email addresses beyond the obvious places, or look for people via Twitter and Facebook. Thank you for understanding.

Sheenazing Awards....why u make me piiiiick?!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd now it is 2:30am and I am still up clicking through all these beautiful blogs... at least it's quiet and no one is asking me for chocolate milk or money. This is so fun, Bonnie!
ReplyDeleteHooray, I voted! Is it one vote per customer, or are we doing this Chicago-style?
ReplyDeleteGood question. I updated above and will edit the voting ballot.
DeleteI tend to not do things Chicago-style, being a down stater and all.
One vote per person, please.
No way. This. Is a new level of awesome. Awesome!
ReplyDeleteSo. Many. Blogs!! Very fun...thanks, Bonnie! Prayers continue for your family.
ReplyDeleteBonnie,
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your time, friend, and for hosting these fun awards!
I know I'll discover even more awesome blogs THIS year! I'm still enjoying and learning from so many I found while perusing last year's nominees!
Happy to help and thank you for the shout out.....
<< It's a privilege to be nominated!>> yay!
Have a great day! We're still praying for you and your sweetie!!
xoxoxoxox
Hey Bonnie-
ReplyDeleteNo joke. This is like, really cool of you to do for everyone. Hugs to your family.
Thanks for organizing this again, Bonnie! Now I need to check out some new blogs. :)
ReplyDeleteYes...thanks for doing this!
ReplyDeleteSo many awesome new friends to meet. : )
Thank you Bonnie for all your hard work!!
ReplyDelete(We all know how much work this had to have been!!)
God bless you and your sweet family!
This is so awesome, Bonnie. What a great way to recognize all these awesome bloggers.
ReplyDeleteCan I suggest a category for least updated blogs. Then I'd at least be in contention for something.
ReplyDeleteWow, thank you so much for doing this and thanks to whoever nominated me...I'll be impossible to live with now ;)
ReplyDeleteYay! New blogs for my blog roll, and new excuses to not get any housework down! Whooppee!
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteMy bookmark is getting soooo big...filling up with a list of awesome new blogs that I can't wait to read. Thank you for keeping the Catholic world connected, Bonnie! Love it!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Bonnie! ~ Country Girl's Daybook, recently posted: #whywemarch http://bit.ly/1aEsJk2
ReplyDeleteThanks for doing this! It is such a great way to find new blogs!
ReplyDeleteWow I had no idea I'd be nominated for something.....Thanks!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is so awesome! I can't believe I got nominated, but soooo glad! Off to check out all these awesome blogs now! :D
ReplyDeleteHey - Just a heads up. On the voting form - under best blog for a mom - call her happy is listed twice. Not sure if that will effect the counting but, I just thought I'd let you know. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for doing this, Bonnie! Quick question - I'm listed on the voting form as being nominated under Best Blog by a Mom, but on this post I'm not - should I not be on there?
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I was able to help out :)
I'm glad you were able to help, too. ;)
DeleteYou're both places now!
There's only one thing wrong with this whole deal: You should and could be the top contender for each category. Thank you for being such a funny AND cool blogger, with a great-looking header, who's quite inspirational, incredibly smart, and one heck of a mom.
ReplyDeleteI agree completely! Thanks for doing this, Bonnie. Your blog is amazing. I'm praying for you and your family.
Delete.... annnnd I'm not getting anything ever again. I think I'm going to need physical therapy for clicky-finger.
ReplyDeleteAll the best blogs, all in one place. The laundry can wait.
The link for Dulce Domum is broken.
ReplyDeleteAnd I wish I could vote for her for most inspiring!
Thanks for letting me know, Lucy. The link should be fixed now. :)
DeleteAnd come back next year and nominate her for Most Inspiring! Or better yet - stick around and then nominate her. :)
I thought I nominated Dulce Donum for most inspiring (as well as for best looking), but perhaps I messed up the form? Anyhow . . . thank you for doing this Bonnie! It's a lot of fun!
DeleteOh shoot! I'm sorry; I hope that wasn't my fault.
DeleteAw, you guys! Thanks! I guess someone appreciates my over-the-top photo-spamming! :P
ReplyDeleteThis is just such a great idea. What a great list of people to be lumped in with. Thank you for all your hard work!!
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, am I ever surprised to find the Breadbox Letters here! It is an honor to be on the list, and that is a huge understatement. I think I'm a little lightheaded (...or is that because I'm forgetting to breathe?) Thank you!
ReplyDeleteBonnie, you're amazing. And Sheenazing. Thanks for doing all of this.
ReplyDeleteI see "to John Paul" on the voting form but not on here; also, sorry for the trouble, but the blog is "Letters to John Paul"
ReplyDeleteThanks.
Fixed it! Thanks!
DeleteHeads up - I think Small Things in the inspiring blog category has the wrong link. Should it be Faith in Small Things in stead of The Small Things?
ReplyDeleteFixed this one too. Thanks!
DeleteHow awesome for the nominees!
ReplyDeleteBonnie, we all love this so much! Thank you for doing it again!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to all.
ReplyDeleteI need to step up my writing and figure out how to get nominated. Or not. lol
Blessings ALL!
So many new blogs to plunder! Thanks so much for putting this together, especially with your scary week last week. I've been keeping your family and especially little James in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteSo fun! and so exciting to browse through so many more blogs. Sincere apologies to my family, there will be no dinner tonight.
ReplyDeleteWhen will winners be announced? (I'm sorry if I missed something)
ReplyDeleteGreat question, Tacy, and you didn't miss anything. I never said.
DeleteWinners will be announced Wednesday, January 29th.
I think there are way too many nominees! Maybe next year narrow them down? But I do like that you made sure each nominee was true to the faith! :)
ReplyDeleteYes, there are a lot of nominees and I have thought a lot about what to do with that. I know that it means a lot to be nominated, even if it's just one vote, and since this is just for fun I would hate to take that feeling away from someone.
DeleteI know the long lists can be overwhelming for some, but that's why it's not really about actually voting for the best but voting for your favorite. If there's 20 blogs you've never heard of, 5 you do and 1 you never, ever miss, then vote for that 1, check out the 20 new ones and maybe next year you'll have a new favorite. My personal favorite part of these Awards is finding new blogs to add to my list.
I have thought about, next year, only putting on the ballot blogs that were nominated at least twice. Blogs with one nomination would move to a "Honorary Mention" category so that they're still recognized but the other category lists wouldn't be so long. I am definitely open to feedback! :)
I know I've already said this, but you really are amazing for doing this. I write often but often don't put myself out there to really connect with others. Being nominated made me feel like I really am part of this online community of Catholic bloggers. Does that sound silly? This is all to say, your thoughtfulness and work in putting this together really means a great deal. You are so kind in doing so, Bonnie!
ReplyDeleteI'm honored that someone thought of me, but I'm pretty Papist. So I don't think I fairly fit in that category! :P
ReplyDeleteEverything to Someone . . . I could have sworn I was under two other categories, but maybe I mistakenly readEveryday Snapshots as EtS?
