What I Wore Sunday

Tax refund = new maternity dress.
It stretches, it covers the shoulders, and goes down to the knees - lovely.
BUT the neckline isn't so great and is rather low, hence the bandit scarf.
Scarves are my new favorite way to hide my ridiculous "I'm fat, pregnant, and nursing" cleavage.  They work better than any tank, cami, or undershirt I've ever tried before.
Look at that belly, so big and round and full of baby.
And cute little JF, what a sweetie.

Last season's shoes.

And earrings that are older than my marriage, and maybe even my college degree.  Resa tried, repeatedly, but never succeeded at ripping them out of my earlobes.

Dress: Target Maternity, on racks now.
Scarf: bridesmaid gift from a few years back, held in place by a safety pin.
Shoes: Target, purchases for the 2012 Behold Conference
Bare legs: Big mistake.  I may be ready for spring but spring is not ready for Central Illinois.

  1. Thank goodness you posted! This whole no-facebook thing has me hurtin! I LOVE that dress - I LOVE stripes! You look beautiful and have given me a great tip for low-cut tops: scarves. How have I not thought of that before??

    1. Yeah, I'm missing FB but my life is actually a lot less stressful without it.

You'd look super cute in the dress.

  2. You are rockin' that dress. I want some spring clothes and weather, too. But, I have neither! I'm in the "I'm hot" stage of pregnancy, but can't justify buying spring clothes for the few weeks I have left...
I use a scarf for coverage, too.

    1. Yeah, I have 20 weeks ahead of me, including half of the summer to get through. Talk about being hot. At least I won't have to suffer through August!

  3. Wait, you're having another baby?? How did I miss that :) Congrats.

Like Grete, I am at the "hot" stage of pregnancy plus I live in South Georgia, I'm dying most of the time. (Thank goodness for the cold spell we've had.) I've considered buying a few new shirts, but I'll just suffer through. I hope for an early baby! :)

Blessings to you on your last few weeks!

  4. The most frustrating thing about maternity clothes is the low necklines. Why do they think we want it all hanging out?

    1. I know - I don't get it!

But at my size I pretty much need to wear a t-shirt or turtleneck to not show anything. Low cut maternity clothes don't help either.

    1. Thanks, Kathryn! It does look like something you'd wear, if I've learned anything from the WIWS link-ups.

  6. I love love love that dress -- the whole ensemble, actually! Tres chic! And James has one of the best smiles I've seen.

We're at my parents house dogsitting for the weekend -- that makes 3 youngins, two dogs, and a puppy, and I accidentally ripped the blinds off their wall. You could say WWIS slipped my mind.

  8. I do like that scarf idea very much. I usually do a tank underneath, but sometimes those two layers are too much. Awesome sparkle shoes, and you get extra points for dangly earrings with a toddler in tow! Pretty!

    1. You're right - 2 layers can be too much.

And thanks for the bonus points. :)

  9. So beautiful! Love the dress, the scarf with the dress, the earrings, the shoes, love it all.

  10. Super great safety pin trick! I always knot it but then it comes undone and becomes more messy than it's worth. Great style :)

  11. I love the maternity dress...much more fashionable than the ones I wore. I also couldn't help but smile at the phrase 'full of baby'. :-)

Thanks so much for linking up!
