I was at Wal-mart 2 times yesterday. The second time was to drop off a prescription and ended up getting 1) velvetta 2) rotel 3) oreos 4) salad 5) croutons 6) patches for my boys uniform pants
I am seriously crazy. You know you can't go through a blizzard without cheese dip, oreos, and a project
I love soup, but my husband doesn't love it with the same intensity. But this is a good, stick-to-your-bones meal, cauliflower and cheese soup with beer bread.
And one more. This is my mom's recipe for Chipped Beef. I've been craving this for months, just need to remember to buy the beef. Usually eat it for breakfast over english muffins and eggs, but it would be good for brinner too. Mmmm
2 packages of Budding beef 1/2 stick butter flour milk salt and pepper
cut up the Budding beef and add it to a big pan with the butter. Mid to low heat...Once the beef has cooked for a bit, mix in about 3 Tablespoons of flour. Stir for about a min. then pour milk....about 3 cups. Salt and pepper to taste. Stir as it thickens. If it gets too thick, add some water or some more milk as needed. The gravy shouldn't be too thick yet not too runny.
Apple-Cinnamon Couscous (good for breakfast and reheats well (may need to add a splash of milk); makes a nice snack, too)
1 c. apple juice 1-1/4 c. milk 1 medium-sized apple, diced 1 c. couscous 1 tsp. cinnamon 2 tbsp. brown sugar 2 tbsp. butter
Combine apple juice, milk, and diced apple in sauce pan over medium heat. Cook until just beginning to boil. Remove from heat. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cover and let sit for 10 minutes. Serve warm.

(I don't have self-rising flour but one of the commentors offered a substitution.
